Skylar and Teisha

These guys flew all the way from Idaho to get married here in NC! So we didn't have a lot of time for bridals and engagements they came in Monday and are getting married Sunday but you all know me I have to get to know people so I feel more confident on the wedding day. So we did a dry run almost as soon as they got here....what troopers! It was hot and muggy and had we more time I might have said let's shoot for a better day but we did the best we could with what we had. They are a beautiful couple full of smiles and love. It helps that Ashley has known them for years. She can get a real smile out of Skylar just about every time. Thanks guys can't wait til Saturday!

Neat Idea

I just did a wedding for the wonderful woman who gave me my start on this business a year ago. (well really it was for her daughter) I was so excited and nervous I knew she would have an really good idea on how she wanted the pictures to look and I wanted to make sure I did them just right. But my favorite idea she had was a preset up room for people to come and get their family picture done. I set up my one wireless flash and we got some really good shots. Problem was they had a ton of guests and getting them to all come in wasn't an easy task. So here are a few I got of some of the more immediate family. I should have brought Ashley she is good at getting people to follow her anywhere.

The Details

Usually I don't get to do much details Ashley does such a good job while doing the guys shots I never have to worry but this time Ashley was with her hubby in DC and I got to take some. Yay! I may have gone overboard but I think I accomplished the task. Everyone helped out for Shanna and Henry's affair her mom even decorated the cake wow she is one talented woman she takes amazing pictures and cakes (I won't go through the list she really can do it all). My favorite were the favors for the guests they matched the invitations hmmm I may have to go find mine and take a pic of it.

Shanna and Henry

Finally the actual bride and groom. These two were so sweet to put up with taking pictures even though it was a hot and muggy day. But the clouds were perfect against the brillance of the temple leading to some sweet shots despite the bright sun. It just helped me think outside of the box a little and having my favorite photographer there to guide me along helped too she rally has great ideas I still wonder how she ever gave it up. Thanks Sheryl for giving me the opportunity to shoot your lovely daughter I hope I did her the justice you would have.

Kelly

Kelly is a knockout with rocking deep auburn hair and a killer stance. We had so much fun finding some new spots in my old spots and learning that the bride always falls into positions that they are comfortable with and look great. She brought along her amazing sister (who is also my sister n law) to keep her smiling. We will always look at these pictures and think about the song zip a dee do da. Thanks Kelly for the amazing shots and once again the fun time!

Colby Broke both Arms!

Yes that is my middle guy with two green casts. It was the piece de resistance on our family vacation to tour all the lighthouses in NC. The first day out we have an eventful day chasing Grandpa around and after dinner at my brother Adam's house the boys go out to play with my youngest brother Jonathon. Then they come back in, Jonathan telling my mom to look at Colby because he is being a big baby about a little hurt, dad's all huffing about Colby being thrown on his face. Mom looks at one arm then the other and from across the room I can see it is broken. I freak (for those that know me this is not normal for me, no wise cracks Jason) grab my poor child who is in complete shock barely crying and head for the hospital. Then I get the story, Colby is by far a better storyteller but I will try. They were playing by the water and they saw something across the creek they wanted to see Jonathon jumped over but Colby said he couldn't make it. So Jonathon says how about I throw you across. (that's when the doctors eyes get big every time) Jonathon says he asked him if he was ready Colby says he was like oh and oh and then he was flying. Keaton says Colby was being stupid flaying about. Dad says he landed on his face. Colby then says he put out his arms because he didn't want to get a new face. Well the right one is broken on the growth plate at a 45 degree angle the other is called a green willow fracture just bent really good. Both require casts.
Colby was tramatized for about a day now he thinks he is the bomb but really upset that he can't swim. Kids they jump back so quick it's amazing we survive them. Love this kid and I am so proud of his brave spirit and that he is making this a fun new adventure to tell all his friends about!

Flowers

Went on a trip with my Grandmother and Aunt who are some of the biggest reason's I love photography they are amazing scenic photographers and have always had a camera along for as long as I can remember. So I took a page from their book and tried for some pretty flower pic's here is what I came up with. They still beat me hands down but maybe someday I will have the portfolio they do.

The Norred family

This was a beautiful evening with a cool breeze on the lake and some beautiful light. Everything a photographer needs to take some great portraits. Not too mention the super cute family willing to do whatever I ask. Thanks guys hope you had as much fun as I did!
